After trying various fish traps I discovered Tankmatez. By only feeding in the trap even the shyest fish enter the trap after a few days. As you pull down on the magnet the trap spins and rapidly, the trapdoor seals the entrance and the trap quickly floats up to the surface. The delivery and backup service was above the norm. Love these traps! This is my 2nd Tank Matez fish trap. I was skeptical about this new design with the floating door. I had the old version with the actual closing door that you closed useing a pump, but a part started rusting so decided to give this new version a shot. I have a wicked quick wrasse who's a major bully and I caught him in less then an hour. Yes these traps are on the pricy side,but I think they are 100% worth it. Not having to remove all the rocks from your tank/ not having to over stress your fish chasing them around with a net is an A+ for me.

I caught the fish that I wanted to remove from the display on my second try. Less than 24 hours after receiving the trap. Really, I caught him on my first try but he was quick and darted out of the trap before it reached the surface. The second try I was a bit more patient and waited until he was more comfortable in the bubble before pulling the magnet. It's a very well thought out trap, very well constructed, and the customer service is great.

After an easy setup, I had to leave it for about a day, as the fish that I wanted to remove from the tank was timid. Woke up the next morning and the fish was hanging out in the trap. I quickly removed the magnet and caught him. Quick and painless, fish was moved to another tank right away.

I bought the 8in silent trap door trap. It worked great after the fish acclimated to it. Simple to use and built well. I called and texted the company for advice. They were very helpful.

Caught my Tang in about 10 minutes.

I Put it in the tank when it arrived and just let it sit there so everyone could get used to it. After about an hour I turned off the pumps and slowly started putting brine shrimp into it using the attached syringe. I caught a powder Brown Tang in about 10 minutes. Very happy with this trap. Exactly as-advertised and a perfect solution for the aquarium hobbyist. The trap is brilliant! I spent countless hours trying to catch a Clown Loach and Roseline Shark that were in temporary storage in my sump tank while I awaited my new custom build. Fish were stressed and owner was more than stressed throughout all of these attempts. Within 1 hour of the arrival of the TankMatez, I had already captured the large Clown Loach. The next day the Roseline Shark also joined the main display tank with about 10 minutes of effort with the bubble trap. Works well can take a few hours for fish to get use to it. Definitely should turn off water flow when using it.
Caught my sixline wrasse and could have caught my gold spot rabbitfish but he didnt need to be removed.

This was awesome. Catching a lightning fast six-line wrasse in a reef tank. Day 1 every fish except the shrimp were afraid of the trap. Day 2 fish were starting to look at it closer when I put food in it, but wouldn’t go in. Day 3 the wrasse went right in and he was caught. I thought he was going to be too big for the trap, but as soon as I triggered the trap he was disoriented and couldn’t get out. Thank you for saving me from tearing down the tank to catch a bully!

I first noticed their electric magnet version probably couple years back. The price was definitely the turn down, and i didn’t really need on at that point.

Fast forward to a month ago, I started seeing them on my Facebook advertisement along with my local fish people said they caught their fish easily. I guess is time to move my purple and yellow tang to my dads bigger tank. Without reading too much and got the biggest magnet trap they had.

I wasn’t able to catch my tangs as they were too fast. So I message them through Facebook messenger, and they responded really quick with suggestions. Obviously my tangs have trust issue, so I failed. I asked them is there anything I can do to make the trap faster, and they said they would make me a new fast trap(hydraulic) for free. I was super surprised with their superior customer service.

With the new hydraulic trap, it is faster and less spooked than the magnet. Definitely tested my patient level as both tangs were refused to get near the trap opening for couple hours. Caught my giant purple tang then my smaller tang this morning.

This company stands behind their product with superior customer services. I would suggest you talk to them to get the correct trap for your needs.

Well we have a bad bad diadema dottyback, he has been a bully and has infact killed a yasha goby. At first I tried everything. I didn't want to move any rock. Seen this product on Facebook. Watched the dottyback get worse. All my fish and shrimp was hiding. So I ordered the trap. Did a dry run and left it in the tank all day. Fed that evening with no success. I was having a bad day and removed the trap. Didn't feed them the 2nd day. The third day put trap in. And left it for 20 minutes. Now the dottyback is guarding the trap entrance. Oh he knows. So I put 3 little pieces of food in the trap. Well he was watching it. Use a long feeder tube. Put a few more pieces of food in and swirled it. Like 10 minutes and it worked perfectly. He is gone. I 100% recommend this product. 👌

Managed to catch my Koran angel that was bullying other fish. Took him a couple days to go in but once in there, it was easy to trap him.

Great product that worked the first time! Had to get my Hippo Tang out of the tank for treatment and this product worked fantastic! Shot a great video and will upload it soon.

I was a little skeptical at first, but after trying it I love it. The fish can be a good bit skittish around it when it first goes in, but after I left it in for a little while, they got used to it and stopped being so nervous. Once I put some food in, they couldn’t help but go in for it. Makes catching otherwise shy fish a very easy task once they’ve gotten used to having this in the tank! I’m looking forward to using this for as long as I can, honestly it’s quite fun having that “gotcha” moment as it floats up and has the fish looking super confused as to how it ended up like this haha!

I had a troublesome fish that was attacking and killing my newly introduced fish into my 125 gallon saltwater aquarium. I was having so much trouble trying to catch these aggressive fished with a box type fish trap and I just couldn't catch them.
So I ordered the Tankmatez bubble trap and not even after 1 minute after food was introduced into the trap that the most aggressive fish was the one I least expected. It was my pigmy hawkfish!!! So after I removed him from the tank he was rehomed and now I have no more fish mortalities.

Highly recommend and innovative.

This trap works great and is fun to use. I was able to catch my yellow tang as soon as i pumped some food into the trap. I would recommend the hydraulic release for the finicky fish. Don't waste your money on any other trap. Buy a TankMatez!

Ordered the trap to catch a trouble making Damsel out of my tank. It caught my trouble maker without destroying my tank in less than 15mins. Super happy with the TankMatez teams product!

Had an issue with my order. They were able to send me a new one even though they didn’t receive the original back first. The trap worked out really well...maybe too well in my case.

Good concept and does what it is designed to do. It's not a magical trap that will lure in a specific fish but if you know the habits of your fish you can catch a specific relatively easily. I was not able to catch all the fish in my system but I was able to catch all the ones that I really needed to catch quickly.

I found myself needing to move a Filefish from one tank to another. I never use a net except in the case of an emergency but if you are familiar with FileFish, then you know why a net is not an option even then. Catching him with a container of some sort is impossible. The tank is 225 gallons with more places for him to hide than I can count. Fortunately a friend recommended the Bubble Trap from Tankmatez......some chopped up Mysis and Krill pumped into the trap and within 5 minutes, Mr Filefish was in the other tank keeping an Aptasia issue from becoming an Aptasia problem. I plan to purchase a few more in various sizes. I highly recommend this product for any serious fishkeeper.
